Associate Creative Director

Gambit Strategies is a digital firm that specializes in persuading and mobilizing voters for Democratic campaigns and organizations. We’ve overseen the largest and most impactful digital programs in the Democratic Party from the State House to the White House. We value innovation, transparency and creativity. We’re looking for an Associate Director of Video to join our growing, highly collaborative creative team that is integral to our work.

Who you are

You are passionate about producing quality creative that is designed specifically for a variety of digital platforms. You think about all the parts that go into making digital-first creative from ideation through delivery including pre-production, production, and post. You’ve worked at every level of the production pipeline and can manage producers, editors, designers, and animators alike. You are in your element creating ideas and a plan for how to execute them.. You are detail-oriented and committed to making digital creative that breaks through the clutter. And you want to help elect Democrats and further progressive causes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of producers to manage the pre-production and post-production  process on shoots and edits 

  • Write scripts for both static and video ads, often being several scripts a day 

  • Manage producers through pre-production process; staffing crews, scheduling shoots, booking locations, setting budgets, creating shot lists and storyboards, and more

  • Coordinate with the client strategy team to setup deliverables, specs, and timelines for each project

  • Sorting through polling and client notes to write creative briefs

  • Find and hire contractors as needed for projects 

  • Manage budgets and tracking invoices

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in a writer, producer, or art director role. Ideally experienced in political or advocacy work specifically.

  • Experience effectively managing creative teams in an agency setting

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and is able to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong writing skills 

  • Experience producing shoots and post-production

  • Strong timeline management skills

  • Experience in editing or design a plus

This position will be fully remote. Due to the nature of political work, there will be expected evening and weekend hours especially leading up to November 2024. This is a cycle position that will end on November 30, 2024, with the possibility of full time based on performance and need. The salary range for the position is between $90,000 and $100,000, commensurate with experience. Gambit Strategies also offers company paid healthcare, vision, and dental insurance as well as a 3% employer contribution to a 401k plan.
