You are passionate about producing quality creative video that is designed specifically for a variety of digital platforms. You think about all the parts that go into making digital-first creative from ideation through delivery including pre-production, production, and post. You’ve worked at every level of the production pipeline and can manage directors, crew, producers, editors, and animators alike. You are in your element supporting the production pipeline just as much as you are executing elements yourself. You are detail-oriented and committed to making videos that break through the clutter. And you want to help elect Democrats and further progressive causes
Job Responsibilities
Mentor and lead a high-performing team of in-house/contract video editors and animators, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
Manage tasks to operate in a 50/50 split of management and video production within a fast paced workplace
Oversee the pre-production pipeline, ensuring seamless coordination from shot listing and storyboarding to staffing crew, selecting equipment, obtaining permits and clearances, and developing a comprehensive schedule for the day of the shoot, while adhering to budget and timeline constraints. Experience working with Union crews and signatories is a plus
Support Gambit’s editing team and other cross-department projects by managing multiple simultaneous video deliverables, budgets, and project communications
Take on the role of producer and/or director during the day of the shoot, meticulously managing and overseeing all aspects to ensure the production remains on schedule and within budget, and all elements and shots outlined in the scripts are captured and meet the creative vision. Experience working directly with candidates is a plus
Give clear technical direction to achieve creative direction on video and motion based projects
Manage video post production to interpret and incorporate feedback and edits in a timely and creative manner, while maintaining the overall vision and client brand standards
Stay updated on the latest pre-production, production, and post-production best practices and trends, continuously researching and exploring innovative techniques and technologies to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of video production processes
Edit videos independently as well as troubleshoot and assist junior team members
Qualifications
At least 4 years of experience in a video director role. Ideally experienced in political or advocacy work specifically.
Experience effectively managing video teams in an agency setting
Works well in a fast-paced environment and is able to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
Experience in directing and coordinating shoots
Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of video formats, resolutions, and codecs
Superior management of assets, style framing, and delivery specifications within a high productivity environment
Experience editing digital videos from start to finish in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects with attention to: pacing, timing, transitions, text animation, color grading, and audio mixing
Proven ability to develop editors to mix, color, animate and design at a high level
Experience in Cinema 4D a plus
This position will be fully remote. Due to the nature of political work, there will be expected evening and weekend hours especially leading up to November 2024. This is a cycle position that will end on November 30, 2024, with the possibility of full time based on performance and need. The salary range for the position is between $90,000 and $100,000, commensurate with experience.
